The project to install name boards on the streets under the Kalmunai Municipal Corporation
today Wednesday (31) under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner ALM Azmi with the 
participation of Engineer AJAH Joussi and Deputy Commissioner ASM Azim.
was initiated.

As part of the city beautification program with private contributions
Amana Bank has sponsored this project. The agreement was signed recently.

Among the 150 streets under the Kalmunai Municipal Council, 40 streets starting 
from Kalmunai- Batticaloa and Kalmunai-Akkaraipettu main roads have been installed 
under this project in the first phase.

Most of the name boards of the streets erected long ago in the Kalmunai metropolitan
areas were found to be damaged and destroyed and some of the street name boards
were missing. Due to this, not only the travelers visiting from the publications 
but also the local people faced great inconvenience.

Kalmunai Municipal Corporation Works Superintendent V. Udayakumaran, 
Technical Officer M. Ameer, Amana Bank Kalmunai United Square 
Branch Manager MR. Naeemullah, Marketing Development Officer MMM Siban and 
others also participated.
